Dunphy nominated for 2020 National AD of the Year
Peoria High School Athletic and Activities Director Brien Dunphy is a finalist in the National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) 2020 National Athletic Director of the Year. Dunphy is one of eight finalists nationwide. Finalists were chosen based on:
Tenure as an athletic director
Improvements in facilities
State, state qualifier and conference tournaments managed
Professional high school athletic service
High school athletic director honors received
Professional contributions made for national, state, regional or conference clinics or conferences
Education, training, safety and other types of programs developed or led at the state or local level.

Dunphy has served as Athletic and Activities Director at Peoria High School since 2011. Prior to that he was Special Education/Vocational Coordinator and Manual High School and Woodruff High School. Over the course of his career he has coached cross country, track and football as well as managing track and cross country meets.
