Peoria Public Schools Offering Virtual Computer Science Courses
High School Students,
Please see the attached flyer to describe some exciting virutal Informational Technology courses. These courses are offered as credit optional. One course is an Advanced Placement course and the other is computer language course CS Python! Students can take the course(s) as an area of interest or claim the course for high school credit. Students can also choose to take the AP Exam if interested.
Both courses are "work at your own pace" with one day a week class meetings and extra tutoring if needed.
This course can lead into exciting pathways such as gaining a Cyber-Security Dual Credit Endorsement hosted in the district. This program teaches Java, web-development, and how to create secure data and information in webpage portals. The Cyber-Security credential allows students to gain employment right after high school with salaries starting an average around $50,000.
