Glen Oak Learning Center is located in the heart of Peoria's East Bluff.  The very first Glen Oak School opened in 1889 and was located in a frame house at 903 E. Frye Avenue.  In 1898, Glen Oak School opened in a three-room frame building at the corner of Atlantic and Republic. 

In 2006, Peoria Public Schools announced the three story building housing Glen Oak School would be demolished once the planned new construction was complete. The district purchased 48 properties that were demolished to provide space for the new building adjacent to the current location. Demolition of the old building was completed in 2010. 

Today, Glen Oak Community Learning Center is located near its orginal location at 2100 N. Wisconsin Avenue.  In keeping with tradition, Glen Oak Community Learning Center remains a proud epicenter for the surrounding East Bluff community!
